What is the V-gan Clan!?

Hey I’m Tash, and I am a passionate vegan and animal activist.

I am so thrilled to put all of my passions into one by starting up this vegan t-shirt brand that is inspired by my favourite hip-hop group, the Wu-Tang clan (all of the Wu-Tang members are vegetarian and RZA is vegan!).

From a very young age, I loved art, particularly drawing marine animals (dolphins are my favourite!). I spent most of my spare time drawing dolphins and reading educational books on marine life and ecosystems. Environmental conservation, protecting our planet and wildlife have always been close to my heart.

I became vegan about 18 months ago, when I decided to change my lifestlye the following day after watching a documentary called Food Choices. I was shocked to find out that animal agriculture is the leading cause of ocean dead zones, species extinction, deforestation, water pollution and contributed to more green house gases than all of the world’s transportation combined! I did not want to contribute to these industries ever again.

Later on, I realised how horrible it was to literally pay people to murder animals, just so I could eat their bodies and secretions. Approximately 70 billion land animals are slaughtered every year and 2.7 trillion sea animals are also killed. I believe that animals are on this planet with us, not for us to exploit, abuse, torture, mutilate and murder.

Veganism is simply a choice not to participate in violence.

The purpose of V-gan Clan is to create awareness of the environmental devastation that animal agriculture has upon our planet and to also encourage people to question their choices to eat and use animals for their own pleasure.
